![]() March 28, 2018 Dear CARBC Family, This update includes information about the Annual Bible Conference, prayer requests and CARBC events. 1. The CARBC Annual Bible Conference will be at Westwood Baptist Church in Fresno on April 9-11, 2018. Pastor Chips Ross and his people are working hard to make this a great conference. Our speaker will be Dr. Jim Cecy, the pastor of Campus Bible Church in Fresno and the Founder and President of Jaron Ministries International. The theme addresses a vital topic for our time, “A Biblical Guide to Living in an Immoral World.” Please set aside these dates and join us in Fresno. Remember to notify the church (ams0503@yahoo.com) if you plan to be at the dinner on Monday at 6:00 p.m.or if you will need childcare during the conference. 2. Talents for Christ competition for California has been canceled. We hope that there will be more interest next year. Our Northern California Churches are looking forward to the Alpha Omega Conference at Shasta Bible College on April 4-8. Many of our churches participate is this great event that emphasizes creation science and the dispensational approach to Bible prophecy. 5. CARBC Events a. The next SINGfor Southern California will be Sunday, April 15 (8:00-9:00 p.m.) at Bethel Baptist Church, 1501 W. Carson Street in Torrance. Justin Reed is the pastor and the church phone number is 310-320-8505. b. The next Sing for the S.F Bay Area will be at Faith Baptist Church, 9862 N. Davis Road in Stockton, on April 29 at 5:00 p.m. Pastor Ken Campbell writes, “Our focus will be on prayer, and our theme will be ‘When God’s People Pray.’ Please forward to me the names of any that would like to participate in song, reading, or another form of communication that would express our theme. I would like to have all the information together, as well as the number of folks coming for food purposes by April 25th. We have the ability to play a CD if you prefer to use a music background. I will forward an order of service to all participants and pastors just prior to our gathering.” c. Central California Women’s May Missionary Meeting: The meeting will be held Saturday, May 5, at Valley Bible Church, 2501 Peach Avenue, Clovis. The church phone number is 559-291-2921. The theme is “United We Serve” and Margie McLain will be the speaker. The time is 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and the cost is $5.00. 6. Pastoral Staff Update Ron Sondergaard is now the Associate Pastor at Grace Baptist Church, Sonoma, working alongside Pastor Tim Brower. His email is rondegaard@gmail.com. 7. Prayer Requests a. My counterpart in the northwest is David Lunsford, the Director of Baptist Network Northwest. His wife, Sue, has a rare form of non-Hodgkins lymphoma. She just finished another round of chemotherapy and is doing well. Let’s pray for her and David and our brothers and sisters in the northwest. b. Many of you know our daughter, Laura Bowling, who was a missionary with ABWE from 2006-2015. She has been diagnosed with thyroid cancer and had her surgery on March 20. She is waiting for a pathology report and her post-surgery appointment with the doctor, but so far it appears they were able to remove the cancer when they removed half of her thyroid. Thank you for praying for her and us. 8.
