A Mission, A Vision, A Plan
JESUS CHRIST HAD A MISSION. He came to Earth from heaven knowing His purpose. His single-mindedness, determination, and reliance on His heavenly Father's guidance ensured that at the end of His ministry, He could pray confidently, "I have glorified You on the Earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do." (John 17:4)
JESUS CHRIST HAD A VISION. He also had a vision - to build a community of believers that would be the foundation of a vast network of followers who would fulfill His vision. Knowing His disciples' exciting potential but precarious position, Jesus prayed, "As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world." (John 17:18)
JESUS CHRIST HAD A PLAN. He also had a plan - to train up workers and call people right out of their preoccupation with other interests. The control He exercised in relation to His ministry was always in response to the leadings of His heavenly Father.
Our Mission
Lighthouse Baptist Church exists with a commitment to the great commission and the great commandment to produce great disciples for Jesus Christ.
Our Purpose
To Inspire people to develop a heart for God - (Psalm 34)
To Include them in a loving church family - (Acts 2:41)
To Instruct them in Bible doctrines - (II Timothy 2:2)
To Involve them in ministry - (I Peter 4:10)
To Impact Contra Costa County and the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ - (Matthew 28:18-20)
Our Vision
The objective of Lighthouse Baptist Church is to be a church which takes the time to serve people, not merely a church served by people. Therefore, we will try to help people figure out who they are uniquely designed by God to be. By focusing on leading people to Jesus Christ, we will strive to be authentically loving, culturally relevant, genuinely worshipping, growing church family, that gives all the glory to God.
